Engine, Comfort and Safety

Engine and Transmission Performance

Powering the hatchback is a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder gasoline engine paired with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). Generating 78 horsepower and 74 lb-ft of torque, this powertrain prioritizes efficiency over speed. While it accelerates smoothly around Colombo, driving up steep gradients near Nuwara Eliya requires steady throttle input. Overall, the Mitsubishi Mirage specs are tailored directly towards fuel savings and everyday dependability.

Interior Comfort and Space

Inside, the hatchback seats up to five passengers with comfortable fabric upholstery. For a compact car, it offers practical features like automatic climate control, power windows, keyless entry, and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Bluetooth hands-free connectivity. Storage space is reasonable, providing 17.1 cubic feet of cargo room behind the rear seats for luggage or groceries.

Safety and Suspension

Safety features include an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), a reversing backup camera, and bright LED headlights for night visibility. The front setup relies on MacPherson struts while the rear uses a torsion beam, providing a manageable ride over rough tarmac and minor potholes across local routes.
